Description
They said it couldn't be done. A laser weapon mounted to a rotating turret? "Nah, can't be done" said the boffins at GSO and Hawkeye. Well look who cracked it - Venture! Sure, it's lost a bit of power in the production process, but the trade off for a wider range of attack is worth it, right? Oh darn, it doesn't tilt up and down very much… Hmmm.

The Venture Lance Laser Turret is a grade 2 weapon block manufactured by Venture. Like all Venture blocks, it can be crafted with a Venture Fabricator.

It has 1 attachment point(s) and takes up 1 cell(s).

Usage[]

The Lance Laser Turret is average at best, being comparable to GSO Narrow Gauge COIL Laser, that can rotate 360 degrees around, but can't target enemies with a different elevation (and therefore can't be stacked on the sides).

The Lance Laser Turret fires slowly and the damage is quite low, however, so to make a difference one needs to have a much larger quantity of these blocks. Most other weapons will have a much higher DPS in the end, making it inefficient.

Trivia[]

Ironically, Hawkeye does have a laser weapon mounted to a rotating turret, despite claiming that it cannot be done.
- However, since the description on that block states that "The eggheads in the lab have finally managed to produce this energy weapon that we can mount to a full rotation turret", the Hawkeye Zeus Laser Cannon might be developed as a response to the Lance Laser Turret due to their resemblance. However, the Zeus takes four times the room for significantly increased damage and just the same RoF.
