Description |
The eggheads in the lab have finally managed to produce this energy weapon that we can mount to a full rotation turret. This aint your average laser pointer, it will really ruin your day if you shine it into your eyes. |
The Hawkeye Zeus Laser Cannon is a grade 2 Weapon block manufactured by Hawkeye. Like all Hawkeye blocks, it can be crafted with a Hawkeye Fabricator.
It has 4 attachment point(s) and takes up 8 cell(s).
Usage[]
The Zeus Laser Cannon is comparable to a Sniper Rifle in terms with other lasers. It's high projectile velocity allows it to pick off enemies from afar and grants it increased range, though it will not offer a lot of firepower when the enemies get too close to the player. It also turns quite slowly, but is one of the only few laser weapons on a fully-rotational turret stand.
As it offers low DPS for it's space, the Zeus Laser Cannon can serve much better while attacking smaller, unprotected techs. It will, however, struggle seriously against shields and larger techs without the help of other weapons. It's size is also quite large despite the low DPS, so one should definitely consider their placement strategically.
Trivia[]
- It was referenced in the description of the Venture Lance Laser Turret. An excerpt from it says "They said it couldn't be done. A laser weapon mounted to a rotating turret? "Nah, can't be done" said the boffins at GSO and Hawkeye. Well look who cracked it - Venture!"
- This implies that the Zeus Laser Cannon was created in response to Venture's success in developing a fully-rotational laser weapon. This claim is only contributed by the fact their structures appear similar minus the paint job and size.
- The weapon's overall round shape and large support system make it resemble an LRAD, commonly employed by law enforcement and sometimes the US Army to disperse crowds or ward off certain threats. This may be an intentional reference to Hawkeye's military theme.
