Description |
The Type 45 is a triplet of battleship class guns mounted on a rotating turret. These super heavyweight weapons take a long time to aim, but once they get their target sighted and start firing volleys of shells you’ll know about it. |
The Hawkeye Type 45 Naval Gun is a grade 3 Weapon block manufactured by Hawkeye. Like all Hawkeye blocks, it can be crafted with a Hawkeye Fabricator.
It has 4 attachment point(s) and takes up 72 cell(s).
Usage[]
Despite its classification, the Type 45 is a high-DPS weapon that aims at hitting the target with a volley of shots instead of a single, heavy shell. Like the Venture Rapid Cannon, when given the chance, it punches almost as hard as missiles. Additionally, the rounds have higher velocities as well as improved damage compared to the Venture counterpart. Though it's placement and rotation may be cumbersome it is able to wreck serious havoc even against smaller enemies. It's especially deadly against slower-moving opponents but is able to tackle faster enemies better since the fire interval is quite short for a cannon, meaning that missing hit only requires the player to turn a little, if needed to, and score the next one immediately.
It is mostly suited to larger techs that are capable of handling its mass. Due to the cell count, one is usually enough as any more will require significantly more space, and one naval gun is usually more than enough against targets it can easily dispatch.
Trivia[]
- The Type 45 Naval Gun was added to the game per community request without going through the R&D Labs and testing. However, it received negative criticism due to the low damage, and the fact that real-life battleship guns hold significantly more power, possibly besting even the Mk3 Battleship Cannon.
- The 45 in its name may refer to the end of WWII at 1945, before which large battleships with sophisticated gun platforms are popular among the world's navies. After their vulnerability to smaller and more expendable weapons such as torpedoes and rockets were made obvious, battleships fell out of the line and smaller, more versatile vessels took their role.
