Description |
The "Seeker" guided missile system is loaded with 2 heat seeking "Warhammer" missiles. Seekers are a versatile tool, with ground-to-air, air-to-air and air-to-ground capabilities. |
The Hawkeye Seeker Missile Pod is a grade 3 Weapon block manufactured by Hawkeye. Like all Hawkeye blocks, it can be crafted with a Hawkeye Fabricator.
It has 2 attachment point(s) and takes up 2 cell(s).
It is highly explosive when destroyed.
Usage[]
Firing high-velocity missiles, the Seeker Missile pod's description accurately describes it. It's small splash radius makes it ineffective against shields, but regardless, it will make some significant impact. It is great against faster enemies with little protection as the damage per shot is quite significant and just a few would render one immobile.
One issue about this block is that despite how compact it is, the pod may still easily come under fire, so adequate protection and healing are required to keep it firing. Another problem with the pod is it's high velocity which effectively reduces it's turn rate and prevents it from hitting targets too close to the player's tech. It also cannot rotate on it's own, requiring additional weapons to cover all sides
Each missile has a one-second reload time and it occurs individually. It takes little time to fire two missiles quickly, after which there's a brief delay where the missiles cannot be fired until the reload is complete.
Trivia[]
- Despite being one-block high, the technical hit box is 0.5 blocks tall, so weapons like the Venture Oozee SMG can fire over it, similar to how weapons can fire over most armor plates.
- The Hawkeye Cruise Missile and a few other blocks also share this aspect.
- The missile's tracking range is farther than the player's lock-on range.
- According to the description, the missiles were named "Warhammer Missiles".
- Although the pod can aim on its own, it does not rotate, as it's not on a turret.
