Description
The HG1 Cannon Turret incorporates a compact 16 pound oscillating cannon with auto-loading capabilities.

Dr N. Greyswandir (D.Eng.), the controversial inventor of the "Holey-Moley Hunter-Killer Mole-Mower" has today unveiled his newest weapon, the HG1 Cannon Turret commissioned by Hawkeye PMC to rival the GSO's, Megaton Cannon. The new HG1 is a devastating cannon, which can hit a target with a high explosive shell at very long range. Greyswandir came out of retirement to lead the HG1 project specifically to out-do his long-time professional rival Dr Glutton (inventor of the Megaton Cannon). Speaking of Glutton, Greyswandir said, "He was barking mad to think that he could build a better cannon. He should come work for me, we need a dogsbody to do some grunt work around here."

The Hawkeye HG1 Cannon Turret is a grade 3 Weapon block manufactured by Hawkeye. Like all Hawkeye blocks, it can be crafted with a Hawkeye Fabricator.

It has 1 attachment point(s) and takes up 50 cell(s).

Usage[]

The HG1 is usually considered inferior to the Megaton and Gigaton Cannons. It takes up more space than the Gigaton Cannon, but the damage level is equal to that of a Megaton, which is 1000, and it has only slightly more health, around 300.

Overall, the HG1 is a niche weapon, as a few more Megatons will take up roughly the same space, but will fare much better against most enemies. The only real tactical advantage over the Megaton is that it deals more kickback and has a slightly higher projectile velocity, which in turn means better range. One could possibly attack enemies farther away with this turret gun, whereas the Megaton would sometimes not reach.

Trivia[]

  • The Megaton Cannon, a weapon comparable to the HG1 (as stated above), is mentioned in its description.
    • According to the lore of the block, HG1 was designed to rival GSO's Megaton Cannon.
  • The HG1 used to have a longer barrel, limited rotation, a smaller footprint and fires even slower with better damage per shot. Like all other deprecated blocks, it can still be salvaged from older Techs or from enemy techs in campaign that still uses this older block, though it will not appear in the players inventory. Loading a Tech that uses this old turret will allow the block to be retrieved.
    • The older version is a separate block with a different description. The lore part is removed, but the rest of the description is still the same.
    • the Iron Hunter Skin replaces the turret with a KV-1 Turret
    • This variant may have eventually become the Hawkeye MK3 Battleship Cannon, as it features a longer barrel, limited rotation, smaller footprint, lower fire rate and drastically increased damage per shot.
