Description
The "N830RC" is a six-barrel rotary machine gun with a high rate of fire, which can also fire at a high sustained rate. It features a Gatling-style set of rotating barrels with an external power source.

The Hawkeye Auto Cannon is a grade 3 Weapon block manufactured by Hawkeye. Like all Hawkeye blocks, it can be crafted with a Hawkeye Fabricator.

Usage

The Hawkeye Auto Cannon takes around a second of spin-up time, then it begins to rapidly launch bullets. The heat-up time will occur if the the player attempts to use it after a pause in firing. The bullets are affected by gravity, but they have better range than most bullet-based weapons. This, coupled with its high fire rate and decent damage, can easily shred enemy techs from a short distance. On top of that, the accuracy is quite reasonable, especially for a weapon of this size.

The major trade-offs with the block include its high recoil, mass, and its mandatory heat-up time. It suits prolonged engagement better than burst firing.

Trivia

• The Hawkeye Auto Cannon is based off of the M134 Minigun, an externally powered rotary machine gun.
  • This is especially evident from the resource name, which is HE_MiniGun_Large_525. The term "Minigun" is a common alias for the M134.
  • The actual M134 takes less than one second to spool up to firing speed. Like most virtual portrayals of rotary cannons, the Hawkeye Auto Cannon takes much longer.
  • Despite being called a Minigun another Inspiration is possibly the GAU-8/A Avenger because the Avenger is classified as a Autocannon by the US Department of Defense.

• It is indirectly referenced in the description of the Venture Dual Auto Cannons:
  • "What’s better than one big Auto Cannon? Two slightly smaller ones of course! These will really chew them up."
  • Ironically, the Hawkeye Auto Cannon has a slightly higher DPS than the Venture Dual Auto Cannons. While both have the same fire rate, the Venture Dual Auto Cannons deal 90 damage per shot. For reference its Hawkeye counterpart does 156 damage.
• With the Iron Hunter skin, the Auto Cannon is re-skinned to a heavy machine gun, based on the M2 Browning. However, the change is only visual.
