Description |
This gimbal mounted Plasma cutter is a great tool for zapping those hard to reach resources. Oh wait, for some reason it locks onto other Techs? Well that's odd... I'm sure they'll sort out that bug with a firmware update later. Anyway, although you gain freedom of movement, it is a little less potent in the power department, but it has a slightly longer range than other Plasma Cutters to make up for it. |
The GeoCorp Gimbal Mounted Plasma Cutter is a grade 2 block. Like all GeoCorp blocks, it can be crafted with a GeoCorp fabricator.
Usage[]
The Gimbal Mounted Plasma cutter is considered as a niche weapon - The longer range doesn't help in any way and the power reduction has no impact on it's actual performance, as plasma cutters torch everything in a matter of seconds. It can't even chase resources as the game does not allow the player to manually target them. It also takes up more space than most other GeoCorp tools. It does chase enemies, but it's ineffective against most of them as they all attack from a longer range where the plasma cutter will simply fail to reach them. Overall, the Angled plasma cutter is much better if one wants to harvest resources.
Trivia[]
- The Gimbal Mounted Plasma Cutter is perhaps one of the only few melee weapons capable of chasing enemies. It is quite ironic as it practically cannot hit whatever it's attempting to chase and to whatever it can hit, you can't chase them. It is also the only melee that has a turret with full rotation capabilities.
- The Better Future CLAW Plasma Cutter compensated this issue. While not on a turret and thus only able to target anything ahead of it, the much longer range makes harvesting resources AND fighting enemies easier. The low power is not a big problem with this one. It also takes up much less space than the Gimbal Mounted Plasma Cutter and is thus far less cumbersome.
