Description
This handy weapon has been a reliable favourite for over 200 years and still going strong.

The ZK-47 (also known as the Kempykov) is an assault rifle, developed for the Galactic Survey Organisation by Sargent Peter Kempton-Bass. At the outbreak of the first Gamma Quadrant War (GQW1), Kempton-Bass joined the Stella-Royal Marines Commandos Regiment. During the conflict, Kempton-Bass notched up over 300 confirmed kills and lost his mind. After the war, he retired to his undersea lair and began tinkering on various projects to keep himself amused. The ZK-47 was originally created, whilst trying to find a low-cost alternative to text messages. However, the GSO in its wisdom saw other applications for the Kempykov.

The GSO ZK-47 Light Machine Gun is a Grade 1 weapon block manufactured by GSO. Like all GSO Blocks, it can be crafted with a GSO Fabricator.

It has 1 Attachment Point, on the bottom.

This block has 150 HP and is mildly explosive when destroyed.

Usage[]

The ZK-47 is probably one of the first available weapons in the game. It is better damage-wise than starter lasers, but has nothing withstanding thanks to it's very short effective range, so until you have access to Venture/Hawkeye, a fast-firing Ballistic weapon is otherwise unavailable.

While it's mounted on a turret and has excellent rotation speed, it would still be wise to put many of them on the player's Tech, and facing different directions so that threats from unreachable locations can be tackled easily. It's also important to protect it with shield bubbles, as it is pretty weak on its own.

Trivia[]

  • The name is a reference to the famous Russian Assault Rifle, the AK-47.
    • This might hint that the GSO is of Soviet/Russian Origin.
    • While the GSO Big Bertha Cannon is a German weapon, stated on the description, the previous point still stands, as the Big Bertha is a custom block.
  • This weapon has a much slower fire rate than the real-life AK-47 (240 RPM for the ZK vs. ~600 RPM for the AK).
  • Despite being made from Plumbite and Titanite, which are simple rocks, this weapon is explosive when destroyed.
    • A plausible explanation would be the rounds in the magazine cooking off.
  • Despite having a visible magazine, it does not require a reload, as with all other weapons.
