| A Singularity Containment Unit Storage Device. This clever gizmo creates a wormhole to another dimension allowing blocks to be stored there remotely. You can also access the blocks and get them back from said dimension with the inventory in build beam mode. Surely there must be some other applications for this technology? This one only works whilst anchored. |
The GSO SCU Storage Device is a GSO Grade 2 Manufacturing Block. Like all GSO blocks, it can be crafted with a GSO Fabricator. It must be anchored to function, has 2000 HP and 12 Attachment Points.
Usage[ | ]
SCUs, after a set heat-up period, will automatically grab nearby loose blocks and add them back to the inventory. Damage to itself or techs it is attached to will force it to restart.
The GSO SCU has acceptable general stats with a 5-second heat-up and decent range, although it needs to be anchored before it can function. It drastically eases the trouble of block storage with its early availability and is a common sight in early bases.
Trivia[ | ]
- An unobtainable block with similar function to this block is a part of most GSO Trading Stations. The biggest difference is that it's not usable by the player and can't take damage. It will grab blocks from the player and return them to the their inventory.
- Despite the description, singularity technology has no other applications.
