Description
Standard cab module from the Galactic Survey Organisation.

The GSO Cosmonaut SAP Cab is GSO grade 1 cab control block, forming the central heart and control centre of many techs throughout the entire game. It is equipped with a pair of lasers, a lamp and some fuel storage. When detached from other blocks, four tiny wheels pop out of the underside, allowing it to be driven on its own.

It a bounding box of 1 cell and has 6 APs, one on each face.

Like all GSO blocks, it can be crafted with a GSO Fabricator.

It is a smaller counterpart to the GSO Cosmonaut Wide Cab.

Usage[]

The GSO Cosmonaut SAP Cab is noteworthy for its many attachment points and small size, allowing for versatile placement. Being such a natural origin for tech design to branch out from in all directions, an abundance of enemy techs feature a GSO Cosmonaut SAP Cab at their core.

The cab is also rear heavy and its lasers' recoil is high enough to push it backwards slightly. While generally not outstanding, it remains a solid, plentiful, and cost-effective.

Like all cabs, it only pushes other blocks when destroyed and its explosion deals no damage to them.

Tips[]

  • While used on its own, the cab drives extremely slowly. It is faster to repeatedly toss the block with the mouse pointer than to drive it to a destination.
  • Owing to the affordability of additional cabs, in addition to the relatively easily-found resources they require to craft, GSO cabs can represent a more affordable alternative to dedicated fuel tanks until said fuel tanks become avaliable, with the added bonus of being less explosive.

Trivia[]

  • In almost all cases, the player is provided with this block to begin the game.
  • Cosmonaut is a term for Russian astronauts. This is a reference to GSO's Soviet-Style Design.
