Collectors are accessory blocks mainly utilized to collect loose resources and components from the ground.
Usage[]
Each collector has a different capacity, the actual type of which having no influence on their abilities. Items are held on tractor beams after being collected.
Receivers will snatch anything from an allied collector within their range, unless they are from the same tech. They do not interact with most other manufacturing blocks.
Notes[]
- Collectors can be placed in any orientation. However, stacks of carried items will interfere with game physics and cause glitches or unintentional side effects. These issues generally subside for techs on fixed anchors, but some others (such as items blocking allied projectiles) can occur on every tech.
- Like other blocks with similar capabilities Collectors can have one-block-width covering their frontside without interfering with items placement/physics. Anymore and the game may glitch.
- In general, a collector's capacity is inversely proportional to their pick-up range and beam strength. Higher capacity often leads to a loss in beam strength and pick-up range.
- Thus, users of high-capacity collectors must sacrifice their techs' velocity and vice versa.
- Collectors only function when attached to a tech.
Trivia[]
- The GeoCorp TB Thresher has an integrated collector identical to a Picker Collector, although it is classified as a weapon block instead.
- Most collectors are crafted from Electrical Components and generally Luxite.
- Silos and Collectors share similar programming, as well as their various attributes.
- While collectors function by projecting the beams with electricity, they do not consume energy.
